HP Elitebook 8440p review
HP's EliteBook 8440p is a decent business laptop with a powerful processor, but it costs too much considering its small hard disk and low amount of RAM.

We welcomed the matt 14in 1,366×768 widescreen display, which doesn’t suffer from glare or unwanted reflections under even the most intense sunlight or fluorescent lighting. We were generally pleased with the quality and evenness of the display, although colours looked a little dull and contrast suffered at lower brightness settings. If you want to output video to an external monitor there are VGA and DisplayPort outputs. HDMI converters are available for the latter interface.
Although it topped our application benchmark charts and has a decent four hour, 43 minute battery life, we were surprised by the stingy 2GB of memory and tiny 250GB hard disk. While we weren’t expecting a gaming graphics card or Blu-ray drive, it still feels overpriced.
While you can easily upgrade the memory and hard disk, you shouldn’t have to at this price. The three-year warranty goes some way to making up for the specification, but the cover is return-to-base rather than on-site. At this price you can do a lot better.
