Samsung Galaxy S20 features and specs: What’s inside?

Thanks to the fact that the phones have launched (duh), we now have enough information now to paint a good picture of the trio of new Samsung Galaxy S20 handsets, so we’re going to do exactly that. Here’s a table of specifications:

As you can see, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is a bit of a beast. That 108-megapixel rear camera supports a whopping 100x hybrid zoom; it can also record 8K video, a first for a smartphone. The Super AMOLED Quad HD+ display – shared by all three new phones – supports a buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate, but only at a lower resolution.

All three phones have a new “Space Zoom” camera mode that makes use of the hybrid zoom (30x in the case of the S20 and S20 Plus) to help you take great photos of the moon, stars and other far-away objects. In addition, you can fire off all three rear lenses at once using Single Take” mode and get ultra-wide, telephoto and regular shots of the same subject.

The Galaxy S20 comes in both 4G and 5G variants, whilst both the S20 Plus and the S20 Ultra are 5G-ready as standard. Sadly, not one of the new phones has a headphone jack; on the flip side, however, Samsung has also done away with the dedicated Bixby button.

Oh, and here’s how they compare size-wise:

Samsung Galaxy S20 price: How much does it cost?

The Samsung Galaxy S20 4G starts at £800, rising to £900 for the 5G version. The Galaxy S20 Plus is bang on £1,000, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra, an eye-bulging £1,200. All three phones are seemingly only available in 128GB storage variants right now, and so the prices listed here reflect that.

We’ll be back with three full-length reviews in the next couple of weeks, so don’t go anywhere.
