It’s fair to say we were impressed by the Huawei MateBook D15 when we first got our hands on it. Granted, it’s not the most exciting laptop in the world, but it offers an excellent range of features for a price that’s right, especially now that it’s heavily reduced for Prime Day.
Despite having a sturdy aluminium chassis, the MateBook D15 is both slim and light for a 15.6in laptop – making it ideal for hybrid workers. Meanwhile, the keyboard and touchpad are both decent, as is the selection of connections (three USB-A ports, HDMI and a USB-C port), but the display could certainly be more colour-accurate.
It’s the internals that steal the limelight, though: an 11th-generation Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor meant that the MateBook D15 posted barnstorming results in our suite of tests. It’s got more than enough performance grunt to tackle work tasks and even a spot of light gaming in the evening.
