De’Longhi Stilosa coffee machine review front view

If you’re looking for a good-quality manual espresso machine on a budget, look no further than the De’Longhi Stilosa (EC230). You can normally get it for around the £90 mark on Amazon, and even at its RRP it’s a steal. The Stilosa’s performance belies its price. You’ve got two unpressurised filter baskets, and a great steam wand too. At £80 in Amazon’s Spring Deal Days sale, it’s a no-brainer. But if you need any more convincing, let me point out that it’s £5 cheaper than it was during Black Friday too.

Of all the coffee pod machines we’ve reviewed here at Expert Reviews, the Nespresso Vertuo Pop is one of our favourites. It’s compact, looks great and you’ve got loads of drink options in Nespresso’s Vertuo capsule range. At £50, it’s down £30 from its Amazon average price; we’ve not seen it any cheaper than this.

If you can’t stomach the lilac colourway, you do have other options. For instance, consider this starter kit, which bundles the Vertuo Pop in black with two mugs, the Nespresso Aeroccino milk frother and 20 capsules for £120 (normally around £148).

Alternatively, Nespresso’s larger Vertuo Next machine is also on offer in Amazon’s Spring Deal Days sale – down to £69 from an average price of £124.

Here’s another lowest-ever price from De’Longhi, this time on one of our favourite bean-to-cup machines: the Magnifica Evo One Touch. With an average Amazon price of £487, it’s a great-value option at the best of times. It’s also easy to use and can make great cappuccinos, espressos, lattes and more at the touch of a button. In the Amazon Spring Deal Days sale, you can get it for £350. The last time it was anywhere near this cheap was during last year’s Black Friday, where it was £380 on Amazon.

Sage by Heston Blumenthal the Barista Express hero shot

It’s been a long time since we reviewed the Sage Barista Express. However, it stands up as a very good espresso machine – particularly if you can’t afford the pricier Sage Oracle Jet. It affords you the control and flexibility of a manual espresso machine, while its built-in grinder nudges it into bean-to-cup territory. It’s currently £449 in Amazon’s Spring Deal Days sale, down from an average price of £560.

If you’re after a cheap, compact capsule coffee machine, the Lavazza Jolie Evo is a winner. It makes great espresso and, while Lavazza’s A Modo Mio capsule range isn’t as broad as Nespresso’s, they are the cheaper option between the two. For convenient espresso on a budget, this might be the best deal for you.

The Ninja Luxe Cafe Premier on a table

For what it offers, the Ninja Luxe Café Premier is a great value machine. It’s got an integrated burr grinder, manual and automatic milk steaming, and a choice of three portafilter baskets (for single, double and quad espresso shots). Some nifty features for budding baristas include a spring loaded tamper and a “Barista Assist” system that will give you recommendations on grind size – so you can dial in the perfect espresso.

The Premier is currently discounted on Ninja’s own website at £500 (down from its RRP of £550), but you can get it for even less on Amazon right now, at £475 (down from an average price of £501).
