Amazon has slashed the price of its Echo Show smart display by £30
The recently released Amazon Echo Show 5 has all the features of its predecessor, the Echo Show 2, in a better overall package, and has already seen its price slashed on Amazon. It’s available in two colours (black and white) and comes with four months’ free of Amazon Music Unlimited, as well as an adjustable stand.
The smart device’s compact 5.5in smart display can be used for everything from making calls to checking the weather and time, watching trailers, listening to podcasts or audiobooks and even to reading recipes as you cook. For those wondering, yes, it even has Alexa built-in so you can control it hands-free without even touching the device.
When you hear kids screaming “Alexa”, you know that the technology has come a long way. Its compact design and bright screen can be used to liven up any corner of your house.
Despite critiquing it slightly for its audio quality, we deemed the Amazon Echo Show 5 as the cheapest smart display and gave it a great four-star rating.
The Echo Show 5 was already competitively priced at £80, but if you have been contemplating purchasing it for a while, now is really the best time because it’s a whole £30 cheaper at just a fraction under £50.
Amazon is clearly on a roll this Black Friday and they have an additional offer of the black Echo Show 5, along with a Neos security SmartCam. The pair usually retails for £105, but you can now get it for £75, giving you a cool saving of £30.
You can position this SmartCam wherever you want in your house and then simply say “Alexa, show me the kitchen” to get a view of what the Neos SmartCam is seeing right on your Echo Show 5. Talk about convenience, eh?
The SmartCam has a 1080p Full HD live stream with 8x digital zoom and a wide 1/2.9in CMOS sensor. It also comes with motion and noise detection alerts, free cloud storage for 14 days and the option to download clips to your phone to share them with your family and friends.
If you’re primarily going to be using it for security, you might be worried about its night-vision capabilities and, thankfully, the SmartCam is no slouch in that department either because you can see clearly up to 9m – even in total darkness. Unsurprisingly, we gave it a stunning five-star rating when we reviewed it earlier this year.
The bottom line is that the Neos SmartCam is already a great device in its own right, but the fact that it works seamlessly with the Echo Show 5 and both are so well0priced this Black Friday is even more reason to purchase it.
