Audio products have been my bread and butter since joining Expert Reviews, so I’m always excited to see what headphones deals surface during events like the Amazon Spring Sale

They allow me to reminisce about some of the fantastic options I’ve tested over the years, while pointing readers towards offers that will save them a tidy sum on the best tech around.

This year’s Amazon Spring Deal Days are shaping up to be great for audio enthusiasts, with savings on options from a huge range of popular brands.

However, narrowing down your choices can be an overwhelming task, even if you know the style of headphones you’re after. To help you out, I’ve picked out six certified bargains on headphones either tested by me or one of my esteemed Expert Reviews colleagues.

The sextet covers the most sought-after styles (wireless earbuds, over-ear headphones and open-fit headphones) and provides a premium and value alternative in each category. So, without further ado, let’s get stuck into the deals.

Best premium over-ear headphones deal: Sony WH-1000XM6

Amazon Spring Sale price: £329 | View deal at Amazon

180-day average price on Amazon: £379

Sony has dominated the over-ear headphones market for a while now, and the sixth-generation WH-1000XM6 were a particularly strong entry into its flagship series. Head of Reviews, Jon Bray, described them as setting “a new standard for Bluetooth headphones” thanks to their combination of fantastic audio quality, smart, effective noise cancellation, and lightweight and super-comfortable design.

They’ve not received many discounts since being released last year, and this is the lowest price they’ve ever been available at.

Best value over-ear headphones deal: Anker Soundcore Space One

Anker’s affordable Space One headphones are ridiculously well-specified for their £90 RRP, let alone the fraction of that they’re currently selling for. They support high-resolution streaming courtesy of LDAC, and although Ben Johnston found their default tuning a little bass-heavy, he was able to remedy this with a few tweaks to the countless in-app customisation options. He was impressed by the ANC and transparency modes, and found the Space One very comfortable to wear, too.

They may be getting on a bit, but at a shade over £50, the Space One offer everything you could ask for from a pair of affordable over-ear headphones.

Best premium wireless earbuds deal: Technics EAH-AZ100

  • 180-day average price on Amazon: £248

These flagship earbuds blew me away during testing and were deserved winners of the Wireless Earbuds of the Year crown at our Product of the Year Awards in January. I loved their bass-rich sound, felt their noise-cancelling setup attenuated external noise very ably, and they look every bit the premium earbuds their price suggests.

They also offer some of the best quality in the true wireless world, and are the only pair of wireless earbuds I’ve tested to support multipoint pairing with up to three devices. That makes them our top pick for multitasking, but, in reality, they’re up there among the best buds for just about every use case.

Best value wireless earbuds deal: Cambridge Audio Melomania A100

The Melomania A100 were another big winner at our Product of the Year Awards, scooping Best Value Wireless Earbuds. Simon Lucas, who it takes a lot to impress, tested them for us and couldn’t quite believe what they offered for the money.

LDAC and aptX Lossless support, tonal neutral yet lively and engaging audio, and good ANC are the headline grabbers, with a guest appearance from What We Do in the Shadows star Matt Berry being a very welcome, and hilarious, Easter egg. A Best Buy at £119, the Melomania A100 are a no-brainer at £79.

Best premium open-fit headphones deal: Shokz OpenFit 2 Plus

  • Amazon Spring Sale price: £152 | View deal at Amazon
  • 180-day average price on Amazon: £170

Open-ear headphones continue to grow in popularity, and Shokz pretty much has this section of the market sewn up with its class-leading products. The OpenFit 2 Plus provide incredible environmental awareness while still being able to deliver engaging sound quality and best-in-class battery life. Ben Johnston found himself forgetting he was wearing them at times, as they’re so unobtrusive and comfortable, and all these qualities led us to name the OpenFit 2 Plus as our Open-Ear Headphones of the Year in January.

The discount isn’t massive here, and those who can live without wireless charging and Dolby Audio should buy the cheaper Shokz OpenFit 2 (£114) instead, but if you want the best of the best, the 2 Plus are where it’s at.

Best value open-fit headphones deal: JLab Epic Open Sport

  • 180-day average price on Amazon: £76

I found plenty to like about these open-ear headphones from JLab when I tested them last summer. They use a smart mixture of physical buttons and touch controls, support LDAC, which is rare for open-ear headphones, and even rarer for budget options, and their charging case can be topped up wirelessly – another rarity at their price point.

However, I felt there were better options for style and build quality available around their launch price of £120. At £50, they’re a different proposition; their specification suddenly looks like very good value for money. In my review, I said, “If you can pick up the Epic Open Sport on offer, there’s a case to be made for them.” Well, they’re on offer right now, and the case for them is strong enough to make them my budget pick during the Amazon Spring Sale.
