Spaced360 has launched its first Bluetooth wireless speaker, which it says creates a fully immersive sound no matter where you stand in a room
Bluetooth speakers aren’t typically bursting with new technology, but new company Spaced360 thinks it has something worth shouting about: its new Bluetooth Wireless Speaker was built to eliminate the “sweet spot”, or the need to sit in a specific place to get the best possible sound.
Using patented airSOUND technology from parent company OrbitSound, best known for its soundbars and SB60 Sound Base, Spaced360 has shrunk it down to a more portable size. By arranging three 2in speaker drivers in a unique triangular shape and separating stereo channels into pure mono and spacial difference, the speaker should sound exactly the same wherever you sit. The sealed unit also has three equally spaced bass radiators positioned between the speakers in a sealed cabinet, so it should be able to produce a balanced sound with a powerful low-end.
Built to be taken on the move as well as for setting up at home, the Spaced360 speaker includes a rechargeable Li-ion battery that should be able to last up to eight hours on a single charge. It has active NFC, which will wake up the device when you tap a smartphone or tablet as well as provide as quick way to pair Bluetooth devices. It supports aptX Bluetooth for high quality audio, and has a docking base station for easy recharging.
We think the black and silver metal finish looks incredibly sleek, but anyone wanting to add a splash of colour will be able to pair the speaker with an optional case, which will be available directly from the company in your choice of colour. Made from rubberised plastic, it should also protect the speaker when taking it outdoors, although it can’t keep it safe from the rain.
The Spaced360 speaker will be going on sale today in either black or silver, for £250 directly from www.spaced360.com.
