How to avoid bad Cyber Monday phone deals
There are myriad phone deals knocking around right now, and not all of them are worth your time or money. There are a couple of key things to bear in mind when shopping for a new phone during a sales event:
Is this actually a discount?
Retailers love to refer back to a phone’s original launch price when advertising “discounts”, as it makes the reduction appear much grander than it actually is. When something claims to be hundreds of pounds off for Cyber Monday, but was in fact only £30 more expensive a couple of months ago, that’s a bad deal.
To circumvent this phenomenon, we use price tracking tools like CamelCamelCamel and Keepa to measure deal prices against the average price – usually over the past 180 days, where possible. This allows us to determine whether a deal is actually worth recommending, or is simply retailers playing smoke and mirrors.
Should I get a contract or buy the phone SIM-free?
I always recommend buying a phone SIM-free where possible, as it almost always works out more cost-effective. You can then pair your new phone with the mobile network of your choice and have more flexibility to cancel or switch provider when you want to, rather than getting locked into a contract for months on end.
With that being said, it’s not always feasible to buy a phone outright, especially when we’re talking about flagship phones that regularly extend into four figures. In that case, I’ll be highlighting offers that get you the phone and a decent amount of monthly data for the best price possible.
How much should I be spending?
Which brings us to prices. I’ve split the offers into three distinct categories: budget phones, mid-range phones and flagship phones. The former is where you’ll find the dirt-cheap bargains (under £300), flagships are the top-of-the-line models with more power and stronger cameras (over £600), and mid-range phones naturally fill the space in between.
While flagships are traditionally the most exciting picks, I’m a staunch champion of the mid-range. Here, you can find a fantastic balance between affordability and functionality, with a wealth of features and classy designs at prices that don’t hurt your wallet too much. But, of course, how much you should spend depends entirely on what you’re looking for.
The best phone deals of Cyber Monday 2025
Best budget phone Cyber Monday deals
1. Motorola Moto G56
- Cyber Monday 2025 price: £159 | View deal at Amazon
- Average price over the past 170 days: £192
The Motorola Moto G56 is a freshly reviewed budget phone from one of the best makers in the business. This bargain handset has exceptional durability, with better water resistance than anything else in this price range, and a big, bright display. Performance and battery life aren’t the best around but they’re both decent enough for this low price.
Speaking of which. This phone has averaged £192 in price since release (roughly 170 days at the time of writing) but has now dropped down to just £159. That’s a ridiculously good price for such a sleek and well-rounded budget phone.
2. Nothing Phone (3a)
- Cyber Monday 2025 deal price: £233 | View deal at Amazon
- Average price over the past 180 days: £312
Nothing’s classy and stylish Phone (3a) has always been a bargain among mid-range phones, offering a telephoto camera, useful AI and a beautiful display for an incredibly low price. Now, it’s even more compelling, with two subsequent discounts plummeting the price down into budget territory.
Previously averaging £312 over the past 180 days, the Nothing Phone (3a) was first discounted to £274, but has now been dropped to a new record-low of £233. If you want something that stands out from the crowd, this is the one for you.
3. Honor 400
- Cyber Monday 2025 deal price: £249 | View deal at Amazon
- Average price over the past 180 days: £328
From the massive 200-megapixel main camera to the impressive six years of software support, this discounted Honor 400 offers a level of quality that we rarely see in the budget price range. The display is another high point, with a sharp resolution, decent peak brightness and outstanding colour accuracy, recording an average Delta E of just 0.67 in our testing.
The Honor 400 originally launched for £400 (nominative determinism?) but has averaged £328 in price over the past 180 days. For Cyber Monday, that has been slashed down to just £249 – the cheapest it’s ever been.
Best mid-range phone Cyber Monday deals
4. Google Pixel 9a
- Cyber Monday 2025 deal price: £347 | View deal at Amazon
- Average price over the past 180 days: £443
The mid-range phone I recommend above all others is the Google Pixel 9a, and right now, it’s down to its cheapest price on record. It averaged £443 in price over the past 180 days but it’s dipped down to just £347 for Cyber Monday.
For that, you’re getting a beautiful display, seven years of software support and two outstanding rear cameras. Perhaps most impressive, however, is just how well the Pixel 9a performed in my battery testing, delivering one of the best results I’ve ever recorded – surpassing many phones that cost more than twice as much.
You don’t get a telephoto camera and general performance isn’t as nippy as some rivals but even still, as a bargain all-rounder, the Google Pixel 9a is by far the best pick – and it’s more enticing than ever at this price.
5. Samsung Galaxy S25
- Cyber Monday 2025 price: £599 | View deal at Amazon
- Average price over the past 180 days: £720
The Samsung Galaxy S25 is our favourite compact flagship phone, packing a fantastic amount of power into its slim, lightweight frame. Despite being much smaller than its siblings, it uses the same speedy Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, delivering brilliant CPU performance and particularly strong gaming framerates in our testing.
Battery life also proved impressive, lasting for over 31 hours in our standard looping video test. The display isn’t the most colour accurate and the AI features still feel unnecessary and half-baked, but if you want incredible performance in a compact package, there’s no better option than the Samsung Galaxy S25.
6. Google Pixel 10
- Cyber Monday 2025 price: £599 | View deal at John Lewis
- First major discount
My favourite Black Friday deal is alive and well for Cyber Monday. Despite having only been out for a couple of months, the Google Pixel 10 has received its first major discount – and it’s substantial. The entry-level 128GB model retails for £799 but this deal sees the price plummet to just £599.
The Pixel 10 was already my favourite of Google’s latest batch of flagships, with its new telephoto camera and PixelSnap magnetic wireless charging feeling like a substantial upgrade. Performance and battery life didn’t quite measure up to rivals around this price in my testing but neither was bad enough to undermine everything the Pixel 10 gets right.

7. OnePlus 15
- Cyber Monday 2025 deal price: £879 | View deal at Amazon
- Introductory discount, was £979
The OnePlus 15 only released a few weeks ago, but it’s landed with an introductory offer that cuts the price down just in time for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The entry-level 256GB model costs £849 and the 512GB version is usually priced at £979 but, with this deal, you can get the higher storage variant for £100 less, netting you all that extra space for just £879.
And beyond the price, this phone is simply fantastic. Its enormous battery delivered the best battery life we’ve ever recorded in our testing, and the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset also demonstrated class-leading performance. The display is bright and colour-accurate, the cameras are sharp and versatile and the Mind Space AI is useful without being intrusive.
Some rivals have better zoom photography and longer software support but, as a bargain all-rounder, the OnePlus 15 simply cannot be beaten.
8. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
- Cyber Monday 2025 deal price: £999 | View deal at Amazon
- Average price over the past 180 days: £1,148
Here we have our current favourite smartphone, the all-singing, all-dancing Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. This classy flagship earned our favour due to its four excellent rear cameras, big, beautiful display, bundled stylus, blistering performance and epic battery life. Adding to that list is this bargain Cyber Monday deal price.
Over the past 180 days, the price of the Galaxy S25 Ultra has averaged around £1,148 but this deal sees the cost drop down to £999. That’s the joint-cheapest we’ve ever seen it, matching the discount price offered for Prime Day 2025.
9. Apple iPhone 17 Pro
- Cyber Monday 2025 contract price: £99 upfront, £45/mth | View deal at iD Mobile
- Sim-free price: £1,099
It’s a rare thing to find Apple phones participating in deals events like Cyber Monday – you’re far more likely to find keenly priced contracts than discounted handsets. Of the offers I’ve perused, this deal from iD Mobile is the most appealing.
The iPhone 17 Pro (our favourite of Apple’s latest bushel of handsets) with 256GB of storage and 500GB of monthly data can be yours for £99 upfront and £45/mth.
In line with the consumer price index, prices are set to rise in April 2026 to £46.49/mth and then in April 2027 to £48/mth, which means that, at the end of the contract, you’ll have paid around £1,122 in total.
Considering that right now, buying the iPhone 17 Pro outright would cost you £1,099, the idea of forking out an extra £23 for two year’s worth of 500GB monthly data isn’t too bad at all. If you fancy the latest and greatest iPhone, this is the deal I recommend.
10. Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
- Cyber Monday 2025 deal price: £749 | View deal at Amazon
- Average price over the past 180 days: £1,022
Samsung was the first out of the gate in the burgeoning ultra-slim smartphone race, with the stylish, sturdy and incredibly skinny Galaxy S25 Edge. In addition to its physics-defying dimensions, the S25 Edge impressed with a gorgeous and robust titanium frame, fantastic performance and an outstanding 200-megapixel main camera.
In fact, my biggest issue with the S25 Edge was the price – a factor that has now been handily swept aside. Previously averaging around £1,022, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has now plummeted down to £749 – the cheapest it’s ever been by quite some way.
11. Motorola Razr 60 Ultra
- Cyber Monday 2025 price: £898 | View deal at Amazon
- Average price over the past 180 days: £1,031
The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra is our favourite flip phone, with its incredible performance, useful cover display and brilliant battery life earning it five stars in our review. Over the past 180 days, the price has averaged around £1,031 but right now, you can pick one up for just £898 – the cheapest we’ve ever seen it.
The excellent AMOLED cover display is the main appeal here, allowing you to use whichever app you want without having to open the phone. Battery life is some of the best we’ve ever seen from a flip phone and performance is outstanding, with power enough to multi-task across the displays or engage in frantic 3D gaming.
It’s a shame to see the previous generation’s telephoto camera replaced here with an ultrawide but both it and the main camera are decent shooters, at least. If you fancy a flip, this Razr has been cut down to a bargain price.
