Disney Plus is coming to Amazon’s range of Fire TV devices with offline downloads and voice controls

Disney Plus content will be available on Fire TV streaming devices, Fire TV Edition smart TVs, and Fire Tablets

Another day, another Disney Plus announcement.

Ahead of the service going live in the UK in a matter of weeks, and fresh from the news that Disney Plus *will* be getting access to more than 600 episodes of The Simpsons, Amazon has confirmed you’ll be able to watch all of these episodes and more on the retailer’s range of Fire TV devices.

From 24 March, all of Disney Plus’ archived films and TV shows, as well as its upcoming exclusive and original programmes will be available on Fire TV streaming devices, Fire TV Edition smart TVs, and compatible Amazon Fire Tablets.

On Fire TV, customers can use the Alexa Voice Remote, any paired Echo device, or the Fire TV Cube with Alexa built-in to search for and find content, and this content will be included in Fire TV’s universal search feature, meaning you don’t have to browse the app’s catalogue separately.

When the app goes live, Amazon said customers will be able to ask things like “Alexa, find Disney Plus” or “Alexa, play The Mandalorian.”

Fire Tablet customers will also be able to download movies, TV series or shorts, and watch them offline.

Fire TV and Fire Tablet customers can sign up for a free seven-day trial directly from their Amazon device from the day of release, on 24 March, after which they will be charged £5.99/€6.99 a month or £59.99/€69.99 for an annual subscription.

If a customer has already signed up for Disney Plus on another device, they’ll just be able to log into their account via the app on their Fire TV devices.
