This Fitbit Versa 2 deal is just £159

Fitbit's Versa 2 smartwatch: a perfect bridge between smart watch and fitness tracker, is now just £159

Help out your new year’s resolution to get fit by picking up a Fitbit Versa 2, a fitness-focused smartwatch that’s currently £40 off on Curry’s website, meaning you can pick it up for a cool £159.

The Versa 2 has integration with Amazon Alexa, meaning you can give it voice commands and sync it up with your smartphone, but it also has some robust health and fitness features that will allow you to track your sleep and fitness, all handled in the Fitbit app, which is one of the best apps in the health space.

The app is a real highlight: it’s remarkably easy to set up a new fitness band, while the social features can help you gamify getting in shape, throwing down challenges to your friends about who can get the most steps over days or even weeks.

But Fitbit has a range of different bands, why the Versa 2? It’s a nice piece of kit for bridging the gap between smartwatch and fitness tracker, and the OLED screen means things will look great, but also helps with battery life, meaning you should get five days of use out of a single charge, although you can also turn on an always-on display that hits your battery life but makes the whole thing feel like an actual watch, which is novel for something you wear on your wrist.

Reviewing it, Alan Martin said that the fitness tracker was “frustratingly close to being amazing”, declaring “It looks great, it lasts for days and it benefits from the superb Fitbit app.”

It does lack a GPS chip, which will be useful if you’re using a phone with a slightly dodgy GPS, but all in all, it’s a great way to get into fitness tracking with a solid app, good watch and a price point that makes it a very attractive package.
