Advanced Warfare Day Zero edition – Activision REALLY wants you to pre-order the new Call of Duty

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Day Zero deal

One solitary extra day of gameplay ahead of the unwashed masses for dedicated Call of Duty fans - well gee, thanks

Activision closed its pre-Gamescom Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare multiplayer reveal event (wow, we’ll be glad when we don’t have to type that out again) by announcing the Day Zero edition version of the game. Available to anyone that pre-orders, or already has pre-ordered Advanced Warfare, in any of its multiple iterations, the Day Zero edition will let gamers play a day earlier than the official release date.

That’s right: by stumping up the cash before the game has even launched, ahead of any reviews and before the critics can slam the annual franchise for failing to live up to the hype yet again, players can sleep soundly knowing they’ll have a whole twenty four hours to experience the new Call of Duty before anyone else – or at least the sensible people who prefer to wait and hear whether a game is worth the money or not before buying.

That means the online lobbies will be filled with the kinds of player that eats, sleeps and breathes Call of Duty for the first 24 hours, and won’t hesitate to let you know what a n00b you’re being – despite having had the exact same amount of time to play the game as anyone else. Why not just call it the Douche edition and be done with it, Activision?

To be fair, the Day Zero edition also includes bonus double XP throughout the 24 hours of extra play time, along with two bonus custom weapons and the already announced Advanced Arsenal pre-order bundle, which includes a gold EXO suit and golden beam gun – to make you stand out even more on the battlefield, where surely camouflage would be a better choice.

If you really want it, the Advanced Warfare Day Zero edition will be available at retail and digitally ahead of the game’s official release date on the 4th of November, when it arrives on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PlayStation 3, and PC
