If you’re in the market for a smartwatch ahead of the festive season, you might be interested in this offer from Amazon – which knocks the price of the Garmin Vivomove 3S to an all-time low, from £220 to £180.
The Garmin Vivomove 3S is a hybrid, meaning it combines a more traditional wristwatch design with a subtly integrated touchscreen and a raft of smart features. At the time of writing, it’s £40 cheaper as part of Amazon’s Black Friday offerings.
The Garmin Vivomove 3S has an analogue face, coupled with a digital display that supports notifications for incoming calls, text messages and calendar appointments. It doesn’t have in-built GPS, but it can connect with your phone’s GPS to keep track of movement when you’re exercising.
We haven’t reviewed the Vivomove 3S, but have reviewed the very similar Vivomove 3, with the main difference being a slightly smaller design. “It really hides its smarts well,” wrote Alan Martin. “The OLED screen is hidden against a black watch face, meaning it really is invisible until you want it to be seen. When you bring it to life, either by firmly double-tapping the screen or by sharply raising your wrist, the hour and minute hands jump out of the way to give you a clear look at a selection of screens, which you navigate with swipes left and right.”
