Get a FREE Nest Mini smart speaker in this Currys PC World Black Friday deal

The Nest Mini is often available for free in Black Friday bundle deals, but often the bundled product is unappealing. Not so this time: right now at Currys PC World, you can score a free Google Nest Mini smart speaker when you buy a Fitbit Inspire 2, Fitbit’s flagship fitness tracker.

Usually priced at £109 (£139 without the Black Friday Nest Mini discount), you can pick up this match made in heaven for just £80 right now at Currys. This means you’re essentially buying a Fitbit Inspire 2 and getting a free Google Nest Mini thrown in – or buying a Nest Mini and paying £20 less for the Fitbit, if you like.

If you’re in it for the Nest Mini, we’ve got good news: it’s a cracking little smart speaker. We gave it four stars and a Recommended award when we reviewed the latest model earlier this year. Our head of reviews Jonathan Bray praised the improvements in both audio quality and voice recognition, noting also that as always, the new Nest Mini is exceptionally keenly priced.

“The new Nest Mini is a welcome upgrade then and an interesting one, too. The extra silicon inside will likely mean it’s better equipped for future Google Assistant upgrades and it now sounds better, detects your voice more reliably and with greater alacrity than before.”

Of course, if you’ve never been all that sure about smart speakers, nabbing the Nest Mini for free alongside a cracking fitness tracker like the Fitbit Inspire 2 is a perfect low-stakes way to sample the goods. In his review of the Inspire HR (the Fitbit Inspire 2’s older sibling), our reviewer Alan Martin wrote:

“If all you’re after is a smart fitness band to track your steps, sleep and general fitness level, the Fitbit Inspire HR is an easy recommendation. It looks good and is competitively priced. Yes, there are cheaper bands out there, but they don’t have the brilliant app and community.”

This glowing recommendation stands the Fitbit Inspire 2 in very good stead indeed. It improves upon the Inspire HR in a few key ways, promising better battery life and an improved display alongside new touch-sensitive buttons and the introduction of Fitbit’s Active Zone Minutes activity tracking metric. In short, you really can’t go wrong.
