HP release Folio 1040 and Spectre Pro 13 Ultrabooks

HP has added several new models to its EliteBook professional laptop range

HP has expanded its EliteBook range of professional laptops and desktops with several new models, including the company’s smallest ever desktop PCs and two new Ultrabook laptops.

The EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 Ultrabook leads the new range, and is HP’s thinnest business laptop to date. At 15.9mm thick and weighing 1.5kg, the machine has a CNC aluminium unibody design that has passed twelve MIL-STD 810G endurance tests including shock, drop, vibration, extreme temperatures and even “explosive atmospheres” to ensure it can survive being taken on the move.

Buyers will have the choice of 4th Generation Intel dual-core i5 or i7 processors, high definition or Full HD 1080 resolution displays, and optional 4G LTE wireless connectivity. The laptop will be available from mid-December, with prices starting from £1,380.

The Spectre 13 Pro, meanwhile, matches the EliteBook Folio for size and weight, but drops the processor down to either a Core i3 or i5. It uses solid state storage, has a spill-resistant keyboard for anyone that can’t seem to put down their morning coffee and TPM certification for data encryption. It too will be launching in mid-December, with prices starting from £979.

Hp EliteDesk Mini

The EliteDesk 800 G1 Desktop Mini is a diminutive one-litre machine that HP says is smaller than most office phones. It still ahs room inside for 4th Generation Intel Core processors, six USB3 ports for connecting multiple peripherals and three video inputs for multiple screen setups. Prices should start from around £499 when the system goes on sale in the UK from April 2014 onwards.

Finally, the EliteDisplay S230tm is a 23in multi-touch display with a Full HD 1,920×1,080 resolution IPS panel that has been treated with an antiglare coating to improve visibility. An adjustable easel stand which tilts back up to 70 degrees, integrated 720p webcam and dual microphones for videoconferencing and a VESA compatible wall-mount should appeal to many business professionals. It will cost around £349 when it goes on sale from March next year.
