Sky Mobile 5G is live – and you can get a 5G phone for just £6 a month

Sky Mobile is finally joining the 5G party today as it switches on its next-generation network connectivity – and it’s coming out swinging.
All Sky Mobile customers, both new and existing, who sign up for Sky’s free loyalty programme Sky VIP, can get 5G for free, with nothing to pay on top of Sky Mobile’s existing tariffs.

These existing tariffs start at £6 a month for a 3GB data plan, or you can triple the data to get 9GB for £12 a month, all with unlimited calls and texts. Sky TV customers can additionally stream sports, movies and TV shows through Sky’s apps without using any data.
Sky’s 5G network is initially available in 20 cities and towns across the UK, including London, Edinburgh, Belfast and Leeds, with plans to roll out to a total of 50 UK destinations by summer 2020. To get 5G, you’ll need a 5G-ready phone and to be in one of these 5G coverage areas.

Prices for Sky Mobile 5G start from £28 a month for the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G, from £46 a month for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G or £48 a month for Samsung Galaxy S10 5G – all include 3GB data and 5G for free.
What’s more, Sky Mobile’s existing Swap and Watch features, which let Sky Mobile users upgrade to a new handset at any point during the contract, means these users can upgrade to a 5G-ready handset straight away.
Plus, if you sign up for a 5G phone from Sky Mobile and Sky Superfast Broadband at the same time, you’ll get an extra 50GB data bonus which you can use as and when you need it, or cash in for rewards.

How to join Sky VIP
New and existing Sky Mobile customers can join Sky VIP on the My Sky app by logging in with their Sky ID and choosing the VIP option.
Customers who don’t want to sign up to Sky VIP will get 5G free for one month and then pay £5 a month after, or can join Sky VIP at any stage.
As an incentive to sign up, Sky Mobile is giving VIP members the chance to win a Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G with a year’s worth of Sky Mobile data between 16th January and 5th March 2020 via the My Sky app.
