The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G being reduced to a record-low price is becoming a habit for Prime Day. In the July sales event, the Nord 2T 5G came down to the cheapest it had ever been, and now, in the October sequel, Amazon has undercut itself, making this budget phone better value for money than ever.
Both models are down to record-low prices: the version offering 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage now costs just £330, while the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model is down to £430. While these discounts aren’t massive – both are £10 to £20 below the previous best prices ever and £30 to £40 below the average – they still make this already excellent phone an unmissable bargain.
OnePlus might not be a name you’re familiar with, but this Chinese brand has been quietly putting out high-quality mid-range phones at affordable prices for a while now and is worth paying attention to. Bestowing our mythical five-star Best Buy award upon its square shoulders, we found the Nord 2T to be a minor but worthy upgrade on the brand’s previous offerings.
At this price, there are two things that a phone really needs to nail in order to be a viable option: performance and battery life. The Nord 2T 5G offers both of these things in spades, coming in as the fastest Android option in its price bracket and lasting for nearly 24 hours in our video rundown test. With moderate use, this should see you well into a second day and when the battery finally does die, it will only take around 30 minutes to juice it back up to full.
Rounding out the package is a gorgeous 90Hz AMOLED display and an excellent main camera that produces crisp, detailed images. The phone’s portrait mode isn’t as impressive as standard photos, and the video only records 4K at 30fps, and unstabilised at that. With those small issues aside, however, there’s so much to like about the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G. As an all-round package, it exceeds every other option in its price bracket, and is made all the more of a bargain with this deal.
