This is the best Apple Watch deal you’ll see this Black Friday

If you’ve been holding out for a good deal on a previous-gen Apple Watch this Black Friday, you’re in luck. That’s because Amazon has cut the price of the 44mm cellular Apple Watch Series 5 model to just £399, or £130 off its original RRP.

That’s an all-time low price for the watch on Amazon and a good £60 cheaper than we’ve seen it elsewhere this Black Friday. Better still, the saving is available on gold, silver and space grey variants of the smartwatch, so you can pick a colour of your preference.

Sure, the Series 5 isn’t the latest version of the smartwatch, but an equivalent 44mm Series 6 will set you back £509, which is a considerable amount more money for only a handful of minor upgrades including SPO2 and sleep tracking. On the other hand, the new budget Watch SE will cost you £340 if you opt for the 44mm cellular variant, but that lacks the always-on display and ECG capabilities of the Series 5. In other words, at this price the Apple Watch Series 5 is where you’ll be getting the most bang for your buck.

When the Series 5 was released just over a year ago, we gave it a glowing five stars and a Best Buy award. Principally, it improved on the already-excellent Series 4 with an always-on display, extra storage and the addition of a magnetic compass. The cellular variant also added the option to make emergency calls from your wrist anywhere in the world.

And that’s not the only benefit you get if you opt for a cellular model. You’ll also be able to send and receive messages and stream music to your watch, all while leaving your phone at home.

Whichever edition of Apple Watch you choose, you’re unlikely to be disappointed, but with this excellent deal, there’s no question which one I’d opt for if I was buying. Hurry, though, because there’s no telling how long the discount may last.
