Of course, all this luxurious sound comes at a price, that price being the cost of a suitably well-appointed Mac, ideally as fast as possible and stuffed to the gills with Ram. There are ‘light’ versions of each piano available, but shelving the full versions because your system can’t run them is a bit like buying a Rolls-Royce but then not driving it because you can’t afford the fuel.

For the seriously committed pianist, Quantum Leap Pianos will astound and amaze, but you’ll have to dedicate a huge chunk of your Mac to its operation. In light of this, it’s not unreasonable to ask: do people really need this much piano?

That said, Quantum Leap Pianos represents the current apex of virtual piano instruments, a great leap forward for the art of sampling grand pianos, and it establishes a daunting benchmark that the competition now has to surpass.
