Kobo eReading App review

Our Rating :

A great alternative to Kindle which gives you a wider range of bookstores to choose from

Things are much the same on the iPad version of the app, with – as you’d expect – a more graphics-rich interface that offers a choice of themed bookcases. Bookcases are divided into shelves showing everything, or subsets comprising books, periodicals or local documents. iOS users can import ePub and PDF files through iTunes, while the Android app can scan your device to find and import ePub files automatically.

You get a fancier interface in the iPad app

Kobo’s app, like its physical readers, is an excellent alternative to the Amazon Kindle app. While we think that the Kindle app is slightly better, this is a great reader if you want to remain free of Amazon’s system. That said, it would be better still if there was a single menu option that entirely removed all of its social features: for secretive bookworms they’re a distraction, and for social media refuseniks they’re simply irritating.
