Mark your calendars: Samsung has finally set Galaxy Note 10’s launch date. The official Samsung Mobile Twitter account shared the news alongside a rather suave teaser animation that gives very little away.

Samsung will reveal the Galaxy Note 10 at an Unpacked event on 7 August. The grand unveiling will be held at 4pm local time (8pm GMT) at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York, which is where the Galaxy Note 9 was revealed last year.

Truth be told, this news doesn’t come as a surprise. An anonymous source speaking to CNET confirmed both the time and location of the Galaxy Note 10’s big reveal event last month.

According to the general invitation, next month’s Unpacked event “will unveil new devices designed to take the Galaxy ecosystem’s connectivity to the next level.” Somewhat less ambiguously, the invite also explains that the event will be live-streamed, and available to watch on Samsung’s many websites.

So far, rumours paint a frustratingly incomplete picture of Samsung’s newest phablet. Or rather, phablets: leaks describe a 6.3in handset and a 6.7in handset, each with a 5G-ready variant. The device will supposedly have a triple rear camera array, plus a hole-punch selfie camera aligned centrally on the top of the display.

More excitingly, the Note 10 will supposedly use lightning-fast UFS 3 storage technology, making it the first Samsung handset to do so. It looks as though the handsets could launch with either the Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 processor (depending on your country of residence), with up to 512GB storage and 12GB RAM.

In spite of these heavy leaks, Samsung remains tight-lipped, revealing only that the phablet will have an S-Pen and a camera in the launch teaser posted on Twitter. The fact that these features have been highlighted might be important, but for now at least, we’ll just have to wait for the August Unpacked event.
