Samsung Galaxy A20e: Samsung’s tiny A-series handset unveiled in Milan

Samsung announced the Galaxy A20e today at its “A Galaxy Event” in Milan. The new A series is comprised of six handsets in total, with three having already been announced prior to today’s event. The Samsung Galaxy A20e, Galaxy A40, and Galaxy A80 are the latest additions to Samsung’s heftiest budget lineup yet.

The Samsung Galaxy A20e has the smallest screen of the bunch, with a 5.8in TFT display that has a 720 x 1,560 resolution. Sitting snugly on the upper edge of that display is a V-shaped notch that gives the display its “Infinity-V” moniker. Powered by a Lassen-P+ octa-core processor, the A20e comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, as well as room for a MicroSD card of up to 512GB.

On the camera front, the Galaxy A20e has three sensors. The rear snapper is a dual 13-megapixel (f/1.9) and 5-megapixel (f/2.2) arrangement; the selfie camera, conversely, is a single 8-megapixel (f/2.0) camera.

Keeping the lights on is a 3,000mAh battery that’s replenished via a 15W fast charger. Apart from a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, though, that’s all there really is to it; these are budget handsets, after all, and you can expect the feature set to reflect that.

Unfortunately, we have no idea when the Samsung Galaxy A20e will launch – Samsung has revealed no info about either release dates or prices for any of the just-announced A series handsets. Based on specifications, though, it does seem likely the A20e will be one of the cheapest of the six Galaxy A smartphones.

It also seems fair to suggest that they’ll launch in 2019, but otherwise, your guess is as good as ours. We will be updating this page as soon as we have more information about the Galaxy A20e, so don’t go anywhere.
