Ted Baker Audio Finisterre DAB radio officially revealed

Fashion brand continues its expansion into home audio with Finisterre DAB radio

Respected fashion brand Ted Baker has announced the latest release in its burgeoning audio line-up, the Finisterre – a retro-inspired DAB radio that’s made with high quality materials and promises not to compromise on sound quality.

Built from metal, with an aluminium speaker grille, genuine leather strap and matching accents around the top of the unit, the Finisterre certainly looks stylish. The buttons on the top appear to be machined from metal too, giving you control over tuning, volume and pre-sets. The LCD screen in the centre displays track information from DAB stations and will tell you which source is currently active.

The radio can receive FM and DAB signals, as well as DAB+ broadcasts – meaning it is futureproof against any possible changes to the transmission system, so you don’t have to worry about needing to replace it a few years down the line. It also includes built-in Bluetooth, for streaming from a smartphone, tablet or other device, and has a 3.5mm auxiliary input for connecting older wired gadgets. You’ll also find a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack and a USB port for firmware updates on the back of the unit.

Inside, two full range 2in drivers and a 3in bass driver deliver 14 watts of sound power. With a dedicated amplifier for each driver, it should be more than enough to fill the average kitchen, living room or bedroom. We had a brief listen at the launch and it certainly sounded clear, precise and loud when fed a DAB source, although we’ll have to withhold our final verdict until we’ve given it a full review.

The Ted Baker Audio Finisterre will be going on sale from today onwards for £199.99, and will be available in Brushed Silver and Black leather or Brushed Silver and Tan leather.
