As Black Friday deals go, this one’s a bit of a no-brainer: if you’re buying a new TV, you want a decent package of channels and services to go with it, right?
Sky and LG have partnered to offer an astounding Black Friday deal that gives anyone who has bought an LG OLED TV the opportunity to pick up the Sky Entertainment package either completely free of charge or at a slashed rate. Here are the three deals that are available:
- Free Sky TV for 18 months with any purchase of LG’s OLED E/W TVs – total saving £720
- 50% off Sky TV for 18 months with any purchase of LG’s OLED C Series – total saving £360
- 33% off Sky TV for 18 months with any purchase of LG’s OLED B Series – total saving £236.70
As you can see, the pricer the TV, the better the saving. The Sky Entertainment package itself grants you access to over 300 Sky TV channels – including Sky Atlantic – and 40 catch-up channels. It also includes the HD Pack (usually an extra £5/mth), which transforms over 35 of those channels into glorious high-definition television. Better still, it also includes the Sky Q experience, which lets you watch different channels in different rooms of your house with the aid of Sky’s Q Mini boxes… in other words, keeping the household aggro to a minimum.
In order to claim this special offer, you’ll need to have already purchased your LG TV. After that, it’s a case of heading to Sky’s website to enter its serial number before you go on to purchase your Sky TV package at the reduced rate.
Of course, you’ll have to buy an LG TV in order to redeem this offer – and the OLED series are certainly not budget-end tellies. Over at Currys PC World, the price of the 55in LG OLED55C9MLB has been reduced by £400, dropping from £1,799 to £1,399. This is a pretty astonishing reduction on a television that we lauded as an ‘OLED-encrusted jewel in LG’s crown’ in our five-star review.
But if that new asking price is still a tad steep for your wallet, take a look at the offer on the 55in LG OLED55B9PLA, also at Currys. This has been given a price drop of £500, down from £1,599 to £1,099. Yes, it’s powered by an image processor that’s been supplanted by the second-generation version in the C9 – but the B9 still offers high-calibre OLED visuals.
For those with a bit of cash to splash (and the space to harbour a massive telly), the 65in LG OLED65C9PLA is currently on sale at John Lewis for £300 cheaper than usual. Reduced from £2,299 to £1,999, this high-end TV represents a wise investment for anyone who values a top-class TV viewing experience.
