Now TV: Get a 2-month Entertainment Pass for £2

Quality TV for a quid per month? Yes please

Now TV has just dropped details of its February flash sale. The streaming service is enticing prospective subscribers by offering the first two months for a mere £1 per month.

Yes, it’s the old tried-and-tested auto-renew honeytrap – after two months you’ll find yourself paying £8.99/mth. But before that, you’ll get 60-odd days of 300-plus TV shows for the cost of a supermarket sandwich. And since the weather shows no sign of improving right now, do you really have anything better to do than retreating inside and getting your Vitamin D from the pallid glow of your television screen?

This offer will certainly appeal to those who like to binge-watch TV but also appreciate a varied diet while they’re at it. After all, it might feel like Netflix and Amazon Prime serve up top content in limitless supply, but there are certain blue-chip shows that are conspicuous by their absence on both platforms. The most notable example, without a doubt, is HBO’s Game of Thrones, which Now TV has in its entirety. So you can watch all eight seasons in their gore-splattered glory – or at least, right up until the end of Season 7 before the showrunners decided to Do What They Did. There’s no point in re-traumatising yourself.

Another notable show that the Entertainment package offers is neurosis-fest Curb Your Enthusiasm – now in the middle of its tenth season – while other comedies available include Family Guy and Parks and Recreation. You’ll also get a roster of shows from Sky’s assorted stables, like True Blood and Ray Donovan from Sky Atlantic, Armando Iannucci’s Avenue 5 from Sky One, and vintage British classics like Only Fools and Horses.
