Forget the Amazon Spring Sale – these Hisense A6BG TV deals at Box are UNBEATABLE

Box has reduced the already very affordable 43in and 50in Hisense A6BG to clear, undercutting Amazon's Spring Sale prices in the process

If you thought Amazon was the only place to bag a cheap TV deal during its Spring Sale you’d be wrong – Box has undercut its price on the 43in and 50in models of the popular Hisense A6BG.

By using the code “CLEAR5” at checkout, you can pick up the 43in model for just £227 and the 50in variant for £275. To put those prices in context, Amazon has the smaller model listed at £239, while the larger option will set you back £279.

The Hisense A6BG is the 2022 update to the Hisense A6G, a 4K HDR TV we reviewed in 2021 and praised for delivering solid SDR performance and build quality at a competitive price. The A6BG has very similar specs and has been averaging £252 and £303 for the 43in and 50in models since launch, meaning Box’s prices represent a saving of around 10%. The promo code suggests the TVs have been discounted to clear, so it’s unlikely they’ll be available for long.

So, what will you be getting if you decide to bite the bullet and buy the Hisense A6BG? Well, for starters, a 4K UHD TV that supports all four of the key HDR formats – Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG – which is something of a rarity at this kind of price point.

To back up that wide-ranging HDR support is support for DTS Virtual:X – an audio format that aims to create the feeling of surround sound using virtualisation algorithms. It’s no match for Dolby Atmos but certainly helps improve the sonic performance of less powerful in-built TV speakers.

Gamers will be pleased to see the inclusion of a Game Mode that reduces latency, though those with a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X will have to temper their expectations – this is a cheap TV with a refresh rate limited to 60Hz so there’s no 4K@120Hz or Variable Refresh Rate. There is, however, a sports mode that automatically engages when the TV picks up a sports signal and seeks to recreate an audio experience akin to that of being in a stadium.

These features are underpinned by a simple-to-use operating system – VIDAA U – that provides access to most of the streaming services we know and love, including Disney+, YouTube and Netflix.

That may not seem like a lot when compared to the Mini LED and OLED TVs of this world, but the Hisense A6BG is a no-frills option for those seeking a new 4K television and even more affordable than usual thanks to this deal from Box.
