Beats Solo 3 headphones were already a good buy – but for Black Friday they've dropped to under £100, a serious bargain
Beats Solo 3 are a great choice for wireless headphones with an Apple chip and amazing battery life, and their £180 price tag has always felt fair. But now for Black Friday, Amazon has chopped nearly HALF off the price, taking it down to just £95.
Apple’s W1 chip helps make the Beats Solo 3 a “standout pair of headphones”, according to our in-depth review. The Solo 3 also has a “frankly excellent” battery, and we found during our tests that it “blows more expensive headphones out of the water with a hugely impressive 40 hours of battery life”.
And if you can’t wait five minutes for a “Fast Fuel” charge, there’s always the Solo 3’s headphone jack. Beats includes a 3.5mm cable which you can connect with Apple’s adapter if your phone doesn’t have a 3.5mm port.
The W1 chip also makes pairing with Apple products a breeze, although Bluetooth pairing with devices across the board (such as Samsung Galaxy phones) works fine too.
As for sound quality, the Solo 3 packs a punch when you first use it, but lacks a degree of subtlety on closer listening. It may not quite meet the mark for dedicated audiophiles, but, as our review says, it’s “pitched very well for modern popular music”.
Looks-wise, Beats has stuck with plastic over metal, which doesn’t provide the Solo 3 with any obviously upscaled touches, but it looks stylish and keeps the headphones lightweight. The black, red and gold editions are all included in Amazon’s Black Friday deal.
Get in there fast, before this bargain deal sees the Beats Solo 3 wiped clean from Amazon’s shelves.
