EE offers free PS4 and VR with Sony Xperia 1 or Xperia 10

This bargain from EE chucks in a PlayStation with your phone

Black Friday is still a few weeks away, but the autumn deals have already started coming. This one from EE is a good one, throwing in a PlayStation games console with either the Sony Xperia 1 or Xperia 10 phone.

First you’ll need to follow the links below to choose which of the phone plans you’d like to opt for. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be given the option of including either a Sony PS4 or a PSVR bundle. If you’ve already got a PlayStation, that means you can get a VR headset to go with it.

The Sony Xperia 10 offer is substantially cheaper, and seems like it could be the better bargain, but you can check both of them out for yourself below.

Sony Xperia 10, 10GB data, unlimited minutes and text for £34 per month

This offering, which includes either a PS4 console or a PSVR bundle, comes with 10GB monthly data, and costs a modest £34 per month with no outright phone cost.

Sony Xperia 1, 10GB data, unlimited minutes and text for £64 per month

The difference with this deal, which comes at almost double the monthly cost, is the handset: the higher-end Sony Xperia 1. This flagship phone has an array of clever features, and a stunning 21:9 OLED screen, although that larger monthly cost takes a serious bite. That said, you do also get a PS4 or PSVR.

In our five-star review of the PSVR, we called it the best-value virtual-reality headset on the market:

“Despite the comparatively low resolution, Sony has managed to achieve something special here. Resolution quibbles aside, the PSVR is a fantastic VR headset that has a great line-up of games and is excellent value for money. It’s easy to set up and exceedingly simple to use, and the fact you can plug just it into an existing PS4, PS4 Slim or the PS4 Pro only makes it more attractive.”
