Amazon’s Kindle back to lowest EVER price for Prime Day
This Amazon Kindle bargain is simply too good to pass up
Amazon’s Prime Day deals event has officially kicked off, and it was pretty much guaranteed that we would see big price reductions across Amazon’s entire portfolio of own-brand devices. Good news, since if you were holding out for a substantial Kindle price drop, then your patience has just been rewarded.
For a limited time – this deal ends on 22 June – you can pick up Amazon’s entry-level Kindle e-reader for a reduced price of just £50, which represents an astonishing saving of £20 compared to the usual £70 going rate.
For the same price as a night out on the town, you can get access to Amazon’s entire Kindle ebook library with the basic Kindle. Except, of course, this newest model isn’t so basic: not only is it the best-value e-reader, but it now comes equipped with an adjustable front light (perfect for reading in the sun) and Bluetooth connectivity for listening to Audible audiobooks as you read along.
As for other features, the Kindle’s 6in E Ink touch-sensitive screen has a pixel density of 167, which is much easier on the eye than most smartphone and tablet screens. If you’re a Prime subscriber (you have to be to take advantage of this deal), then there’s also a huge library of free ebooks to get you started, too.
What did we think when we reviewed the tenth-generation Kindle, then? Well, we praised the kindle’s new Audible and reading light features, as well as its super-low price and pocketable design. There’s no waterproofing – for that, you’ll want the Kindle Paperwhite (now only £80) – and internal storage is a bit limited at 8GB.
Regardless, whether you’re hoping to take your first steps into digitising your book collection, or simply looking to replace an old e-reader, then at this price you really can’t do any better.
