Save £25 with this market-leading PlayStation 5 deal

You can currently pick up the disc edition of the PS5 with two controllers for just £505 at CCL, £25 cheaper than anywhere else online

There’s no better time to join the legions of next-gen gamers thanks to this market-leading PlayStation 5 deal from CCL.

The UK-based gaming PC, laptop and component supplier is currently advertising the disc edition of Sony’s latest console with two controllers for £530. That’s the same price as rival retailers including Amazon, Currys, Very and Box, but you can get £25 off using the code “GAME25”, bringing the bundle down to just £505. You won’t find the PlayStation 5 with two controllers cheaper anywhere else and we think the bundle is worth every penny of its asking price.

The PS5 is not only significantly more powerful than its predecessor but is a substantial improvement on the PlayStation 4 in just about every way. It’s capable of running games in 4K resolution at up to 120 frames per second, load times have been drastically reduced and the console runs much quieter than the previous-generation model. The 825GB SSD is a little limiting, particularly given the increasingly hefty download sizes of games, but you can upgrade your storage very easily using one of our favourite M.2 SSDs.

Firmware updates since launch have added Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) support to the PS5’s considerable list of qualities, which include the exceptional new DualSense controller. It’s larger and heavier than the pad that came before it but is comfortable to hold and extremely responsive. The best things about it, however, are the haptic feedback and dynamic adaptive triggers, which adjust their resistance levels based on how certain sections or actions in games have been programmed. Battery life is a bit of an issue, but with two controllers included in this bundle, you’ll be able to charge one when using the other if you’re not playing a co-op game with a friend or partner.

Of course, games and gaming performance are the biggest contributing factors to a new console’s success and in this regard, the PS5 is a big hit. Games run super smoothly and look stunning and, although the list of next-gen exclusive titles is a little short, you’re spoilt for choice in terms of great games to play.

First-party exclusives like The Last of Us Part I, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, God of War Ragnarok and Demon’s Souls are among the best games to grace consoles over recent years and there’s plenty more to look forward to, with Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth set to release before the year is out. With a PS Plus Essential subscription, you’ll also gain access to monthly games, while upgrading to the Extra or Premium tiers further extends the games library available to you.

If you don’t currently own a next-gen console and favour Sony over Xbox, now’s the time to bite the bullet. The PS5 rarely receives discounts, and £505 is a great price for a bundle including an incredible console and two controllers.
