Tech4Good Awards 2016

We've teamed up with BT to judge the Tech4Good awards to celebrate the people and projects using tech to make the world better

Technology is always supposed to improve our lives, but it’s typically a way of improving society in general. But, what about at the macro level, how is technology really being used to improve lives? That’s what the Tech4Good awards is there to find out, as it celebrates the charities, businesses and volunteers using technology to benefit communities.

Expert Reviews has teamed up with BT to help judge this year’s BT MyDonate Award and we’re looking for help and entries from you. This award is for anyone that has used technology, or has created technology, to specifically help raise charitable funds. This could be due to an event, a website, an app or any other bit of technology designed to help raise funds.

The awards are open to individuals, companies, charities or government organisation, provided that they have a base in the UK. And, it can be about one specific project or their work as a whole. This award (and the other categories) can all be entered online on the Tech4Good website.

Previous winners of the awards, since they launched in 2011, include Raspberry Pi, BuffaloGrid (a solar charger for low-end phones to help emerging businesses in Uganda) and Pennies (a service that lets customers donate a few pennies when they pay for goods via card).

The award entries close on the 6th May 2016, with the winners announced on the 6th July 2016. Expert Reviews will be there to cover it and let you know who the winners are and to bring you more coverage of the most exciting products.
