The January sales are in full swing, with deals coming in thick and fast. The post-Christmas rush never fails to deliver, and this year’s sales look bigger and better than ever. We’ve rounded up the best deals on everything from mattresses and electric toothbrushes to smart TVs and smartwatches.
Read on for our pick of the best January sales deals for 2019. But be wary – many of these deals are flash sales, meaning they elapse pretty quickly. Eagle-eyed shoppers, you have been warned.
Best Boxing Day deals 2018
1. Oral-B Smart Series 6000 CrossAction rechargeable toothbrush (was £230, now £72)
New year, new you, new pearly whites. This high-tech toothbrush from Oral-B is now a fraction of the price – thanks to a 69% discount in the January sales. Offering you real-time feedback as you brush and reducing its speed if your brushing is too vigorous, this is an excellent toothbrush – with savings of £158 to be had.
2. Otty mattress deals (£175 discount or £25 off and two pillows)
Otty is reviving its £75 mattress discount in the 2019 January sales or, if you’re in the market for some high-quality pillows, the company is offering two deluxe ones (worth £110) for free in addition to a £25 discount. Revel in that post-Christmas bliss a little longer with some seriously sumptuous bedding.
3. Save up to £80 on the Lenovo Smart Display
For the Boxing Day sales, Lenovo has slashed the price of both the 8in and 10in models of its Smart Display. The smaller model, usually £180, is just £100 while the 10in model has been slashed by £30 to just £200. Even with Google’s Home Hub currently reduced to just £109, the smaller Smart Display makes for a tempting proposition thanks to its handy front-facing camera and larger screen.
4. Quechua Air Seconds 4 XL family camping tent (was £200, now £100)
While not *strictly* a January sales deal, this half price offer is too good to miss. Happy campers can now get £100 off this family tent from Decathlon, bringing it down to just under £100. Ridiculously easy to assemble, this family tent houses four – and even has a sit-down living room. Snap one up before the summer rush now.
5. Sonos Beam with free nine-month Deezer subscription (save £70)
The Sonos Beam is now at is cheapest ever price – just £329 (down from a £399 RRP). That’s a relative steal, considering our very flattering full review: a hearty four stars, citing its “awesome sound”. Perfect for ringing in the New Year with. Customers at Currys PC World can get a free nine-month subscription to Deezer’s Premium music streaming service too, in addition to nabbing the Beam at its lowest price yet.
6. Samsung LV32F390SEXXXU 32in Smart Curved LED TV (was £349, now £249)
This 32in curved beauty from Samsung has seen its price drop £100 in the January sales, bringing it down to just £249. That’s a fraction of the price we’ve come to expect to pay for high-tech curved smart TVs – before to snap one up before it’s lost to the annals of deals history.
7. Cookworks pressure cooker (was £40, now £20)
Just when you thought you were safe from Christmas cooking… This manual pressure cooker from Cookworks is now half price at Argos, bringing it down to just £20.
8. Fitbit Alta HR (Was £140, now £80)
The Fitbit Alta is a great looking fitness tracker with an impressive battery keeping it going for accurate 24/7 heartrate monitoring. Our only niggle with it was the price – certainly a slight pulse-raiser. However, now with this great January sales deal from Amazon saving you healthy £60, you can rest assured that this is a great price for a great fintess tracker.
9. Ultimate Ears BOOM 2 Wireless/Bluetooth speaker (was £119, now £60)
If you’re looking for something a little more portable, the UE BOOM 2 speaker is a fantastic option. Waterproof, shockproof and eminently transportable, it’s now as good as half price on Amazon, with savings of £59 off its RRP. Opt for sleek Phantom black, or cheerful Cherrybomb red.
10. Kenwood KM331 Classic Chef Kitchen Machine (was £350, now £160)
There are savings of £190 to be had on this all-in-one kitchen machine from Kenwood over at Currys PC World right now. Including five accessories, this multi-talented machine from Kenwood would make a staple in any kitchen, and it’s now way under half price. Grab one now while stocks last.
11. iRobot Roobma R615 (Was £350, now £275)
You can clean up with this January sales deal from Amazon on the Roomba R615. With zero programming required, all that’s needed is the press of one button to set the Roomba to work and this little robot becomes the perfect companion for keeping a tidy home. Now with this deal from Amazon saving you a neat £75, you’re all set for a easy spring clean.
12. Epson Expression Home XP-352 Wi-Fi printer (was £60, now £24)
This compact printer/scanner, copier – all “small-in-one” – from Epson now has a whopping 65% discount in the January sales, saving you a huge £46. With an LCD screen, mobile printing capacity and individual inks (meaning you save money by only replacing the colour used) this is a great all-rounder. Coming in at a sub-£25 price point, it’s now an absolute steal to boot.
13. Netvue HD Home Security Camera (was £36, now £24)
This lightning deal from Amazon is worth shouting about: savvy shoppers can now get nearly a third off Netvue’s home security camera – equipped with a motion detection alarm, 24/7 cloud storage, 4x digital zoom, night vision and a two-way audio system.
14. Nokia 3310 3G (was £45, now £19)
Whether you’re looking for a “back-up” phone, or your New Year’s resolution was to go low-tech, this is an undeniably great deal from Nokia. Formerly £45, the Nokia 3310 3G is now just £19 upfront on O2 Pay As You Go – that’s cheaper than a round of drinks! Yes, it’s only available in yellow, warm red and charcoal brown, but for under £20 we’d take one in purple and green polka dots. Plus, there’s the eminently enviable feature of four-week battery life between charges, in addition to everyone’s favourite mobile game, Snake.
15. Philips HD9240/90 Avance Collection air fryer (was £250, now £120)
If you’re on a January health kick but you’ve got a penchant for fried food, air fryers are an absolute godsend. This one from Philips is less than half price in the January sales, meaning savings of £130. Its Rapid Air technology lets you fry, bake, roast and grill with absolutely no oil. Plus, it drains excess fat while cooking for utmost leanness. I’m not saying you can put a price on health, obviously, but £120 will get you very close.
16. Huawei P20 128GB (was £400, now £350)
John Lewis is offering a great deal on the Huawei P20 smartphone. You can now save £50 on the slick SIM-free handset, which comes equipped with 128GB storage and a 5.8in FHD+ FullView display. Plus, it’s available in stylish black, meaning it’ll stand the test of time (no flash-in-the-pan trendy yellows or reds here).
17. Nilfisk C110 Bar pressure washers (was £90, now £50)
There’s nearly half off this highly manoeuvrable pressure washer from Nilfisk, whose products have made it onto our roundup of best pressure washers. If you’re in the market for something *slightly* cheaper than their E140 3-9 X-Tra pressure washer (ringing in at just over £400), this highly discounted model is a great option at an eminently palatable price. With £40 of savings to be had, (pressure) washing has never been so satisfying.
18. De’Longhi Argento Flora kettle and toaster (were £60 each, now £30 each)
These stylish pastel kettles and toasters from household favourite De’Longhi are now half price over at Argos. Available in light green (toaster counterpart here), ocean blue (toaster here) and rose (toaster here), each aesthetically pleasing piece of kitchenware has had its price slashed from £60 to just £30. Brighten up the most sterile-looking kitchen with De’Longhi’s Flora range – without breaking the bank.
19. Winter Wonder Yankee candle (was £24, now £11)
Christmas might be behind us, but winter certainly isn’t. Cosy up with this less-than-half-price offering from Yankee Candle: its large Winter Wonder scented candle with notes of frozen lemon, champagne and frost air is now just £11 in the sale. Treat yourself – or get savvy and snap up next year’s Christmas gifts early.

Save a whopping £200 on this silver HP laptop with 256GB storage in the January sales. 21. Epson XP-455 all-in-one wireless inkjet printer (was £100, now £40)
This all-in-one printer from Epson now has 60% off this January, bringing it down from triple figures to a sweet sub-£50 price point. You can print almost anywhere thanks to its mobile printing functionality, plus users can save money on ink by replacing cartridges individually. Great quality prints for a fraction of the price.
22. Samsung Galaxy Watch (was £280, now £258)
Okay, so it’s not the most staggering discount we’ve ever seen (savings tot up to 8%). But the Samsung Galaxy Watch is hot property, and to snag £22 off its RRP is a decent deal. We gave the Samsung Galaxy Watch a four-star review, citing its great battery life, excellent display and reasonable price. Now it’s going even cheaper, you’d be silly not to.
