Prime Day deals are usually fairly modest on products that are only a couple of months old but we’ve seen surprisingly big discounts on recently released smartphones this year, and I’ve got another doozy for you.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is the newest member of Samsung’s flagship phone family, and its first swing at making an ultra-slim flagship smartphone. For the most part, it succeeded, delivering an incredibly skinny and lightweight phone that still matched its thicker siblings for raw power.

Originally launched for £1,099 with 256GB of storage and £1,199 with 512GB, the S25 Edge got a minor deal at the start of the week, netting you the 512GB model for the price of the 256GB. Now, however, we’ve got a much more enticing deal on our hands, discounting the 512GB model even further, to an incredibly tempting £899.

When I reviewed the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, I awarded it four stars, with the price being one of my key reasons for knocking it down from five. That, of course, is much less of a concern with this fantastic deal. As for what I liked about it, here are the highlights:

  • The ridiculously slim and lightweight design is obviously the most attractive feature of the S25 Edge, and the main reason you’d pick it over the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus, for instance. The Edge measures just 5.8mm thick and weighs a feathery 163g. Despite that, it’s impressively robust, with a sturdy titanium frame and Gorilla Glass on the front (Ceramic) and rear (Victus 2), as well as a flagship IP68 dust and water resistance rating.
  • Performance is just as blisteringly powerful as the rest of the flagship Galaxy phones, however, with the chart-topping Snapdragon 8 Elite making it one of the fastest phones around and delivering particularly phenomenal framerates with 3D gaming. Most impressive is that despite running intensive games at gorgeously fluid framerates, the svelte frame never overheated in my testing.
  • The display is a beautiful 6.7in AMOLED screen with a pin-sharp 3,120 x 1,440 resolution and a dynamic refresh rate up to 120Hz. It gets incredibly bright, too, hitting over 1,300 nits when displaying HDR content during my testing.
  • Samsung’s software support is also one of the best in the industry, matching Google and Honor by pledging a full seven years of OS updates and security patches for its flagship phones. That means new features, the latest Android versions and well-maintained security all the way through to 2032.
  • The camera suite is also mostly fantastic. The main camera has a massive 200-megapixel sensor and captures exquisite detail and bold, vibrant colours in good lighting. It continues to impress after dark, with natural lighting and well-preserved detail, and all those megapixels mean that 10x digital zooms are still wonderfully sharp. Add video recording up to 8K, OIS support and the option for 10-bit LOG video, and the S25 Edge has an incredibly versatile camera suite.

You may have noticed the word “mostly” there. That’s because my biggest issue with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is that it doesn’t include a telephoto camera. 10x zooms do indeed look fantastic but that’s as far as the camera can go. When the Galaxy S25 Ultra can zoom up to 100x – and even the cheaper Galaxy S25 can go up to 30x – it feels a little underwhelming.

Battery life was one of my other concerns with the S25 Edge but, after fully testing it, things weren’t as dire as I’d feared. 27-hour battery life is still on the better end of things these days, and will happily see you through a full day of moderate screentime without worry. The only caveat is that you can get much better battery life from the rest of the S25 series, with all models delivering battery life over 30 hours.

While these were fairly big dealbreakers at the original price, I find them much easier to stomach with this substantial discount. If you fancy yourself the slimmest phone in town, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge has never been more appealing than it is right now.
