It’s unusual for a company to leak its own products before an official announcement, but over the weekend Lenovo accidentally revealed a new 10.1in Windows tablet will be joining its ThinkPad range of devices thanks to a product listing on its Australian website. Named the ThinkPad 10, the 10in tablet will come with Windows 8.1 and is described as a “business tablet with full PC capability”. The full product page has since been pulled from the website, but Engadget managed to take a look at the specs before they disappeared. Like the ThinkPad 8, the ThinkPad 10 will have a 1,920×1,200 resolution screen, up to 128GB of storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front camera, but it will have a slightly quicker 1.6GHz quad-core Atom processor and be available with up to 4GB of RAM. There will also be a 4G LTE option and pen input support, as well as a whole range of accessories to help turn the tablet into a more user-friendly workstation, including a basic tablet dock, a keyboard dock, and a keyboard case.
There’s been no word on price so far, but considering the leak was from Lenovo itself, it shouldn’t be long before the company make an official announcement. We’re not expecting the ThinkPad 10 to be cheap, as the ThinkPad 8 already retails for around £430, but we’ll bring you the full details as soon as we have them.
