...but it probably won’t be here for long
One of the best TV deals of Black Friday was gone in the blink of an eye. Argos, Amazon, Currys and John Lewis all knocked £120 off the 55in LG NANO86 on Black Friday, and all quickly sold out.
But now it’s back for Cyber Monday, thanks to Electric Shop, where you can buy the gamer-friendly TV for just £679.
Why is this TV in such hot demand? Largely because it’s the cheapest TV with HDMI 2.1, meaning it supports fancy features such as Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low-Latency Mode (ALLM) and 4K@120Hz. All of these are important for next-generation consoles like the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, allowing for up to 120fps smooth gameplay, eliminating screen tear and automatically reducing input lag when certain consoles are detected.
Two of the console’s four HDMI ports are HDMI 2.1 enabled, and while 120fps support is largely theoretical for next-generation games at the time of writing, plenty of Xbox One titles have been patched to run at this heady framerate on Xbox Series X. In any case, it doesn’t hurt to be future proof, right?
But it’s not all about making gamer dreams come true, the LG NANO86 is a damned good TV in its own right, supporting Dolby Vision, HDR10 and Hybrid-Log Gamma (HLG). The WebOS operating system is likable enough, letting you use voice controls via both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, with built-in apps including BBC iPlayer, Netflix, Disney Plus, Apple TV Plus, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube. Sady no ITV Hub, All 4 or My5, but there are four HDMI ports available for the streaming stick of your choice to plug that gap if you’d miss your ‘Take Me Out’.
It’s no surprise this TV sold out quickly when on sale on Black Friday, and it’ll probably vanish from stock just as quickly today. So be sure to order it quickly if you’re interested to avoid disappointment.
