Amazon’s NEW Fire TV series launches with MASSIVE discounts

Debuting its flagship QLED TV in the UK, alongside mid-range and budget models, Amazon has slashed their prices by hundreds of pounds

Amazon’s latest range of Fire TV series launches with an impressive trio of models: its flagship Omni QLED TV, the mid-range 4-series and the budget priced 2-series. Even better, all these TVs have arrived with huge price reductions in tow.

The most eye-catching deal is on the Omni QLED Fire TV, initially available only in 65in (with smaller sizes arriving in June), which sees a whopping £300 discount from £1,000 to just £699. The Fire TV 4-series comes in 43in, 50in and 55in sizes, with the largest model seeing the biggest discount, down from £550 to just £379. Finally, the Fire TV 2-series comes in two sizes, 32in and 40in, the smaller of which can currently be snagged for just £169, down from £250.

The most impressive of the bunch, the Fire TV Omni QLED has a solid visual setup, offering a resolution of 4K on all sizes, utilising a 60Hz QLED panel and supporting a range of display standards, including HLG, HDR10+, HDR10+ Adaptive and Dolby Vision IQ.

Visuals aside, the main draw of the Omni QLED is its smart TV credentials. The TV comes with a smooth, built-in interface that will be familiar to Fire TV stick users and an Alexa voice remote, as well far-field microphone technology, which enables it to function like a giant Echo Show and respond to Alexa wake words. Also of note are its range of “Ambient Experience” features, which use light and movement sensors to, for example, allow the TV to adjust its picture quality depending on ambient light levels or display adaptive backgrounds when it senses you’re in the room.

While all sizes of the Omni QLED are currently available for pre-order, the 65in model will ship from 12 April, while the rest of the range will be sent out from 1 June.

A solid 4K TV, the 4-Series isn’t quite as impressive as the Omni QLED, lacking the flagship’s far-field microphone technology and support for HDR10 and HLG visual standards, and Dolby Digital Plus audio. Focused more on bedrooms and kitchens than living room setups, the 2-Series offers standard HD (1280 x 720) on its 32in model and full HD (1920 x 1080) on its 40in model. Both the 4-Series and 2-Series are available for pre-order, with the first models shipping out on 12 April.
