All four colourways of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 have just dropped in price AGAIN for Black Friday
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 have had their price slashed for a second time in a Black Friday headphones deal those invested in the Galaxy ecosystem won’t want to miss.
A £40 price cut at Amazon saw all four colourways of the noise-cancelling Galaxy Buds 2 fall to £99, the first time they’ve been available for under £100.
The Galaxy Buds 2 then tumbled again in price at BT, hitting an extraordinary low of £79. At this price, you’d be mad not to invest.
Samsung has been bombarding us with new earbuds over the past few years, with four iterations of the Galaxy Buds having been released since the originals launched in early 2019.
The Buds 2 are the latest addition to the Galaxy Buds family and the cheapest too, even before taking into account this tasty Black Friday discount.
They aren’t the most complete entry in the series – that accolade goes to the Galaxy Buds Pro – but we gave them a respectable four-star rating at their launch price of £139.
Perhaps their most appealing quality is their fit: the Galaxy Buds 2 are so comfortable that our reviewer was able to fall asleep with them in his ears.
They also offer commendable customisation options via the Galaxy Wearable app and a few handy Galaxy-specific features, including “Auto Switch”, which swaps your Bluetooth connection between paired Galaxy devices based on what you’re doing.
Touch controls can be assigned to single, double and triple taps, and you can also customise various aspects of the ambient sound mode.
That mode is effective at ensuring you remain aware of your surroundings but the noise-cancelling mode doesn’t fare quite as well when compared with pricier ANC alternatives.
That’s to be expected though, and at this new lowest-ever price of £99, few true wireless earbuds attenuate noise as effectively.
When it comes to sound quality, the Galaxy Buds 2 also score pretty well. They’re very much designed for a mainstream audience, with a soundstage characterised by punchy bass, though five EQ presets give you a bit of wiggle room if you don’t dig the default sound profile.
Although the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 didn’t make it onto our best true wireless earbuds list, they’re still an attractive choice for owners of Samsung’s newer smartphones.
If you fall into that category, now’s the time to grab a pair given they’re cheaper than they’ve ever been.
Alternatively, you could consider picking up the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live. The Mystic Black model is currently available for £82 but, unless you’re desperate for earbuds that actively let sound into your ears, you’ll be better off with the Galaxy Buds 2.
