Sound quality is their big selling point and is up to Sennheiser’s usual excellent standards. The soundstage isn’t quite as broad as the Momentum True Wireless 2, but what goes on within it is a delight to the ears. Bass reproduction is impactful and clean, the buds offer a great amount of insight into complex musical arrangements and their timing is impeccable.
Comfort is also on point, with this third-gen model having undergone a bit of a makeover. The design doesn’t look as premium as that of their predecessors, but the ergonomics are far superior, enabling a more comfortable and stable fit, though we did find achieving the perfect in-ear seal a little fiddly at times.
The Momentum True Wireless 3’s other main strength lies in their impressive range of features. There’s adaptive noise cancellation, which adjusts automatically based on how loud your environment is, a transparency mode, a highly effective anti-wind mode, customisable touch controls, wear detection, and an all-new “Sound Zones” option, which lets you have the buds switch settings automatically based on your location. All of these can be accessed and controlled via Sennheiser’s Smart Control app, which is one of the most sensibly laid out companion apps around.
If you’re looking for premium earbuds for reasonable money this Black Friday, this offer on the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 is well worth considering. You’re getting superb-sounding buds with all the functionality you could wish for at a discounted price. While they may drop even further as we approach Christmas, they’re worth every penny of their current £179 asking price.
