This iPhone 12 mini deal isn't cheap, but it is good value
How about this for a winning combo: right now at Carphone Warehouse, you can pick up a FREE pair of second-gen Apple AirPods when you buy an iPhone 12 mini contract.
Carphone Warehouse is selling the 64GB iPhone 12 mini on a 12-month contract for £47 per month with a £62 upfront cost on the Vodafone network. For that, you get a generous 100GB of 5G data, plus unlimited minutes/texts and a free set of AirPods worth £159.
At £1,190 for the duration of the contract, that’s still not exactly cheap, but the maths does add up to an appealing price. The iPhone 12 mini and AirPods cost £858 between them, which means that 100GB of 5G data comes down to just £13.83 per month. That’s slightly more than the SIM-free Black Friday price for a 100GB Vodafone SIM elsewhere, but you don’t need to jump through any cashback hoops here, which is a bonus.
And as for the hardware itself, it’s top-notch for those looking for a more compact iPhone 12 experience. As our head of reviews Jonathan Bray wrote in his review: “There isn’t anything that’s remotely as good or as small with as good a camera as this on the smartphone market today.”
The second-generation AirPods also get a thumbs up from us. They may not offer the sound quality of some of their true wireless rivals, but the way they pair instantly with iPhones and Macs make them an easy recommendation if you’re deeply embedded in the Apple ecosystem.
In short, early adopters of the iPhone 12 mini who don’t want to pay for a SIM-free phone can rest assured that this is a pretty good deal. It may not be cheap, but it remains good value.
