Now just £129, this Beats Solo Pro deal sounds too good to be true (but it isn’t)
Black Friday is an all-too-familiar time for an assortment of headphone deals, but this year’s audio savings really don’t get much better than this. The Beats Solo Pro, which we quite rightly called “the best Beats yet” in our original review, have plummeted in price for a limited time only.
If you head on over to Amazon right now, you’ll find that Beats’ terrific pair of on-ear headphones are now going for just £129 – that’s an astonishing saving of £51 compared to the average price. They haven’t dropped in price this much since March, and they’ve never been cheaper, either.
One of the world’s most recognisable headphones (second only perhaps to the AirPods), the Solo Pros benefit from the Apple H1 chip which means not only do they pair instantly with Apple’s devices, but you can also summon Siri at any time using your voice. However, unlike a lot of Apple products, you can still use the Solo Pros with an Android phone or Windows laptop/PC.
Of course, the headline feature is the Bose Solo Pro’s ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) capabilities. In our tests, the headphones never struggled in cutting background noise to more tolerable levels, whether it was the deafening sound of the London Underground or a washing machine on its spin cycle.
Predictably, audio quality is also astonishing. According to our Senior Editor Edward Munn: “The bass is punchy and tight instead of overbearing but besides this slight boost in the lower registers, the frequency response sounds mostly flat to my ears, with plenty of detail throughout the mids and treble.” A solid choice for audiophiles, then.
