As part of its Black Friday lineup, omnipresent retailer Amazon has cut the price of the excellent Garmin Forerunner 45 down from £169.99 to £131.99.
That £38 drop from the recommended retail price makes an already great fitness wearable even more appealing. In our five-star review of the Garmin Forerunner 45, we called it an “impressively full-featured watch” and awarded it one of our Best Buy badges.
“The Garmin Forerunner 45 is by far the best budget running watch you can buy today, offering an appealing design and a raft of excellent features,” wrote Olivia Woodhouse. “Those include GPS tracking, a heart-rate monitor, and, perhaps most impressively, the ability to follow structured workouts or even entire training plans from your wrist.”
The price will net you a wearable with in-built GPS and access to free “Garmin Coach adaptive training plans”, which will help you to structure workout schedules. It also comes with notifications for incoming texts and calls to your connected phone, if you have it with you, and support for ANT+ sensors – the wireless technology that easily allows you to pair the wearable with other tracking devices.
“It lacks a little in the way of smart features – there’s no NFC or music playback – but with the Forerunner 45 Garmin has resoundingly delivered at the things it does better than anyone else, namely sports tracking,” we said in our review.
