Apple AirPods Pro are now available at their lowest-ever price
It’s rare to find savings on Apple’s popular AirPods, so these savings of up to £70 are not to be missed
Now that summer is drawing to a close, a range of major retailers have some amazing discounts on Apple’s iconic range of AirPods to keep your spirits high. Prices are, in fact, the lowest they’ve ever been on the Airpods Pro and the standard AirPods are even cheaper than they were on Prime Day.
As fashionable as they are functional, Apple AirPods are a foolproof pair of earbuds that provide great all-around sound quality, excellent battery life, and user-friendliness. If you’ve been eyeing up a pair for a while, then these bargain prices are not to be missed.
The biggest discounts right now are available on the Apple AirPods Pro, which usually cost £249 but are available for just £179. When we reviewed this model, we concluded that “overall they give a fantastic audio performance” both because of the quality of the speakers themselves, and the active noise cancellation (ANC) features.
Typically, in-ear buds don’t have great ANC, but on the AirPods Pro this feature provides a great step-up from earlier models and blocks out ambient noise surprisingly well. On the end of the stem, there’s also a sensor that allows you to switch this feature onto transparency mode, so you can hear more of the outside world.
As a result of the interchangeable silicone tips on the AirPods Pro, they also fit more snugly into the ear canal than standard AirPods. They come in three sizes – Small, Medium and Large – which click securely into place on the earbud ensuring a comfortable, secure fit for every user, even during sports. More impressive still, the earphones can perform a short check to see if you’ve chosen the correct fit for your ears.
They’re also sweat and water-resistant, and they’ve got an impressive battery life of five hours. What’s even better is that you can recharge them on the go in the pocket-sized wireless charging case to get a further 19 hours’ use.
Even more pocket-sized, however, is the regular AirPods case, and the price of this model is far more pocket-friendly than the AirPods Pro. If your budget won’t stretch to £179 for the all-singing-all-dancing Pro model, then the standard AirPods are available for just £109. That’s a saving of £50, making this the ideal time to invest.
Just like the AirPods Pro, the battery life on these buds is five hours, but the case holds a whole 24 hours’ extra charge, making them even more perfect for long journeys.
Despite their lack of silicone tips, the plastic casing of the AirPods fits into the ear canal snugly – you’d struggle to lose them in day-to-day life. If one did happen to fall out of your ears, however, the sensor on the AirPod will recognise this and pause your music, meaning they’re hard to lose.
If you’re planning on using these earphones while you run, the pricier AirPods Pro are definitely a more secure fit, but for day to day life, the standard AirPods give great sound quality and excellent battery life. They’re also really simple to connect to your phone or any other device via Bluetooth.
