If you’re looking to upgrade your smart TV set-up ahead of the festive season, you could do a whole lot worse than this £10 saving on a Now TV Smart Stick with a pre-loaded one-month Cinema, Entertainment and Sports Pass from Currys PC World.
The offer, available as part of the electronics retailer’s 2020 Black Friday promotions, gives you Sky’s Now TV Smart Stick, which allows you to stream content to your TV and voice search via your remote, as well as a month’s worth of access to Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and numerous other channels for just £20 rather than the usual £30.
Whilst we don’t believe the usual RRP of £25 for the Now TV Smart Stick alone represents a great deal, £20 for both the streamer and accompanying passes definitely puts the device on a par with the likes of Google’s Chromecast and Amazon’s Fire TV Stick in terms of value.
Powered by Roku’s OS, the slender Now TV Smart Stick dongle plugs straight into the back of your TV and allows you to watch Sky’s long list of TV shows, movies, kids and sports programming, regardless of whether or not you’re signed up to a Sky TV or broadband subscription.
You’ll also gain access to other streaming services such as BBC iPlayer, All 4, YouTube and, most importantly of all, Netflix (providing you have signed up for a separate account).
For comparison, a regular Sky TV bundle usually costs upwards of £30 per month, and the Sports, Cinema and Entertainment Now TV passes usually retail for a combined £62 per month, so this really does represent a great saving and gives you that added no-contract flexibility which has always been the unique selling point of the Now TV concept.
