This Garmin Black Friday deal is ridiculously good value
The latest version of Garmin’s GPS AMOLED smartwatch, the Garmin Venu 2, is down to a bargain Black Friday price
The Garmin Venu 2 is an impressive watch but doesn’t usually come cheap. For Black Friday, Amazon has wiped £85 off the Large model of this excellent GPS AMOLED smartwatch, down from £349.99 to a very reasonable £265.43.
Garmin’s Venu 2 adds several features compared with the Garmin Venu, which impressed us in our review with its bright display and sports tracking features. New in the Venu 2 are an HIIT app and animated workout feature, a Sleep Score to help you keep track of your shuteye, and an at-a-glance Health Snapshot view.
The Venu 2 also adds more room for offline music, with space for 760 songs compared with the Venu’s 600. Meanwhile rivals such as the Fitbit have removed music storage altogether, in favour of streaming only. The Venu does support streaming, too (you can link your accounts from Spotify, Amazon Music or Deezer) but the option to play music offline is a really attractive extra.
The Venu 2, like the Venu, is packed with tools to track your fitness and wellbeing. It can keep track of the usual metrics, such as heart rate, steps and distance climbed, and even some more unusual ones, such as stress, hydration and menstrual cycles. There’s also Body Battery, which uses a combination of data to determine and monitor your energy levels.
In terms of training, there are lots of guided workouts that come with animations as well as Garmin Coach, so you can try new things and train for bigger goals from 5Ks to marathons without the cost of a personal trainer.
We did comment in our review of the Garmin Venu that its price was a little high compared with rivals offering similar features. But Amazon’s Black Friday offer brings it down to a much more reasonable price, especially with the likes of Apple’s Watch Series 7 still hovering around the £400 mark.
