You really don’t want to miss this Surface Go 2 bargain
This Microsoft Surface Go 2 Black Friday deal is bonkers. If you’re in the market for a low-cost 2-in-1 laptop, or you were simply hoping to snag a tantalising deal in the Black Friday sales, then there’s really no need to look any further. This is as good as it gets.
For a limited time only, Microsoft’s budget Surface Go 2 is currently cheaper than ever, at a reduced price of just £339 – a sizeable saving of £177 (34%) compared to the average price. This freshly discounted price applies to the model with an Intel Pentium Gold 4425Y processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB SSD. Act fast: At the time of writing, Amazon was down to just nine products in stock.
In even better news, this model now costs less than the entry-level version, which shares the same Pentium chip but comes with half the RAM (4GB) and only 64GB of eMMC flash storage. Why pay more for less?
At the time, we applauded the Surface Go 2 for its high-quality Windows Hello-compatible webcam, as well as its surprisingly colour accurate 10.5in FHD (1,920 x 1,280) display. From a design and usability standpoint, we also called it a “gorgeous little thing”, with unbeatable portability and a well-presented speaker array.
A slight snag, of course, is that the Surface Go 2 is no longer Microsoft’s most up to date low-cost hybrid device. However, it has only recently been superseded by the Surface Go 3 in September this year and besides, it’s still only a year and a half old at this point anyway. The Surface Go Type Cover (£100) is an additional purchase as well.
That being said, I really can’t see there being any better laptop or tablet deal this Black Friday. For less than £350, you’re getting a low-cost companion device for short bouts of work on the go or media consumption while you’re away from home, which can also be thrown into a rucksack or suitcase without taking up much space.
