The excellent Fitbit Charge 4 is currently enjoying a double Black Friday discount at Amazon - but not for much longer
You don’t have to spend a fortune on the Fitbit Charge 4 – provided you’re willing to be patient. Black Friday weekend is the perfect time of year to snag this top-rated fitness tracker for less, and this year is no different. Right now at Amazon (and other online retailers) the Fitbit Charge 4 is selling for £90, down from a previous discounted price of £95 and an RRP of £130.
That isn’t quite the cheapest this fabulous Fitbit has ever been – it spent a day or so at £80 over this year’s Amazon Prime Day event – but it’s still a spectacular saving on what is normally quite a pricey product. If you want to invest in one of Fitbit’s esteemed fitness trackers but you’re put off by the high price of admission, now is the time to strike.
As you might have guessed, we rather like the Fitbit Charge 4. Our four-star review praised the Charge 4’s simple user interface, myriad fitness tracking tools and significant waterproofing. In fact, one of our only criticisms of the Charge 4 at the time was the price – an issue that this discount neatly sidesteps.
The Charge 4 can track altitude, steps, heart rate, calories burned and hours slept, and it has a built-in GPS, a first for the Charge range. It’ll automatically detect when you begin an activity, too: the Charge 4 can recognise and record walking, running and cycling, plus treadmill usage, something called “outdoor workouts” and – courtesy of a waterproof design – swimming. A new Active Zone Minutes metric measures how hard you work out, too, rather than just how far you run or how long you walk.
It will also control Spotify (although it has no onboard storage for songs) and it has a SpO2 sensor for monitoring blood oxygen levels. And thanks to Fitbit Pay, you can even pay at certain retailers simply by tapping the band against the card machine.
That’s an awful lot of fitness tracker, and it comes at a price. Or at least, it does on an ordinary day. This Black Friday, however, you won’t want to miss what is a golden opportunity to nab the Charge 4 at a rare discount.
