Very has pushed the price of the Samsung Galaxy S20 5G down to £610
Ahead of Black Friday, Very is offering the Samsung Galaxy S20 for the substantially lower price of £610. That’s down from £899 for the SIM-free 5G model of the handset, with 128GB of storage.
It undercuts Amazon’s Black Friday offer on the phone, which stood at £649 and has since sold out. If that’s anything to go buy, you might want to snap up the Very offer before it similarly vanishes into the ether.
In our four-star review of the Samsung Galaxy S20, we praised its impressive camera setup and ‘buttery smooth’ 120Hz display – one of the big additions to the phone over its predecessor. “This higher refresh rate (double the usual 60Hz) means that your social media scrolling will feel more fluid and responsive than ever,” wrote our reviewer Nathan Spendelow.>
As for cameras, you’ll get a 12MP (f/1.8) main camera at your disposal, along with a 12MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide and 64MP (f/3.5) telephoto sensor. For the processor, the Galaxy S20 uses Samsung’s newest homebrew Exynos 990 processor.
“As you might expect – or hope, given the price – the Galaxy S20 storms through our usual suite of performance benchmarks,” wrote Spendelow. “It doesn’t quite match the superior levels of performance we’ve seen from the iPhone 11’s A13 Bionic chipset in the past, but it’s certainly fast enough that you shouldn’t have to worry about a sluggish experience, no matter which application you decide to throw at it. As Android handsets go, it’s as good as it gets.”
All in all, it’s a solid smartphone, especially at the price it’s currently being offered. If you’re looking for more shopping ideas over the coming weeks, be sure to check out our dedicated Black Friday hub, covering everything from laptops and TVs to headphones and games consoles.
